As the owner of three large (rescue) dogs I know how difficult it can be to travel both with them and to stay in a place that is simply lovely & inspiring.
I am a retired federal agent with a strong creative side which I have dovetailed into an interesting life; I am an instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and I have a small, boutique interior design business. All my homes have been featured in national design magazines the latest being a Feb 2016 article in Country Living magazine; see Press page. My current home, Bella Rustica Cottage, will be too.
Bella Rustica Cottage has an industrial flair with a touch of 'Italy' and the influence of the organic with a nod to the sea. A professional kitchen replete with a gas range and several ways to enjoy your coffee (Keurig & french press), tea and/or wine await. You enter through a courtyard with a fountain and garden area filled with rosemary bushes. Each bedroom opens onto a deck or a private courtyard.
My home is single story, 2000 square feet, dog-friendly with two master bedrooms/bath (king & queen beds) and a third, smaller bedroom (full bed) with french doors onto a deck. Two luxe depth Restoration Hardware leather sofas, that can easily function as additional beds, often do so for me and mine. I only offer Netflix & Amazon Prime via several television sets; one 65 " and the other 42". Wi-fi included, of course. I leave lots of great books and design magazines to encourage rest, relaxation & creativity. Outside rocking chairs and picnic table welcome you to our cooler Fall evenings. Concrete countertops, trolley doors to enter bathrooms, unique lighting & design elements and organic cotton bedding and bath towels provided.
The master bath offers a curbless shower & separate bathtub and the guest bath offers a shower/bathtub combination with 'grab bars' for ease and safety.
A dog door enters into a fully enclosed 1/4 acre yard with 6-foot fencing. Elevated dog bowls provided. My dogs sleep with me so yours are welcome to sleep wherever.....
My home is located in the gated community of Island Club (Retreat), a Sea Island golf community, which is 'beach-side' - two miles to the beach, majority of restaurants, grocery shopping - on the lovely community of Saint Simons Island, Georgia. You can walk to the clubhouse from my home.

East Beach tidal creek. Perfect place to put in with your paddle board. Saint Simons Island is surrounded by the beauty of these tidal marshes. Paddle board & kayak tours offered locally.

Ghould's Inlet, Saint Simons Island. Dog friendly beach. Sandbars provide a lovely barrier to the ocean. 2 miles from my home.

Driftwood Beach at Jekyll Island (next island to the south - beautiful 20 minute drive). Dog friendly & gorgeous. The pull of the tides change the beach over time causing trees to fall and petrify. A must see.

Metal shelving lined with baskets for clothes and extra linens.
Galvanized livestock trough as sink with expose plumbing and wall faucet make this guest bathroom a hit!
Burlap curtains, herringbone patterned flooring & fiddle fig tree warm up this light filled room.
